Hindi pinalad na manalo ang Philippine women’s national football team kontra Scotland sa ginanap na 2023 Pinatar Cup sa Spain noong Sabado.
Sa mga unang oras ng laro ay maganda ang pinapakitang depensa ng Filipinas at Scotland. May mga tiyansang nakakalapit na sila sa goal at maka-iscore ngunit ang depensa ng bawat magkatunggali ang naging dahilan kung bakit tabla ang score 0-0.
Sa pagtatapos naman ng laro ay naka-score ang Scots player na si Lauren Davidson sa pamamagitan ng left foot shot para umalagwa 1-0 . Dinagdagan pa ito ni Caroline Weir sa pamamagitan ng corner kick para lumayo ang score 2 to 0.
Bago matapos ang 80th minute, nakapuntos ang Filipinas na si Meryll Serrano para matapos ang 2-1 pabor sa team Scotland.
Kahit na natalo ang Philippine National Football Team ay sinabi naman ng team captain nila na si Tahnai Annis na magandang pagkatalo ito para matuto at makapaghanda pa ang grupo sa nalalapit na FIFA World Women’s Cup.
“And I think, as time goes on, you know, we’re just learning. So even if we take two steps back, and we take a step forward, and maybe a step back, and then a couple of steps forward. So I think as long as we keep going in the direction that we want to, no matter how incremental it might be, I think we’re still progressing. And having a lot of takeaways from each game that we play, which will help us in the World Cup,” ani ni Tahnai Annis.
