Maaari na ngayong makakuha ng 10% discount at value-added tax exemption ang mga solo parent ayon sa Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
Ito ay matapos lagdaan ni BIR Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui, Jr. ang Revenue Regulations (RR) 1-2023 na nagpapatupad ng Solo Parent Welfare Law (RA 11861).
Ibig sabihin, lahat ng makakapagpatunay na single parent at may anak na anim na taon pababa ay entitled sa 10% diskwento sa mga botika, groceries at iba pang retail outlet.
Iginiit naman ni Lumagui na ang pribilehiyo ay limitado lamang sa mga solo parent na may taunang kita na P250,000 pababa.
“These items included baby’s milk, food supplements, medicines, vaccines. Single mother must present her Solo Parent Identification Card and Solo Parent Booklet to get the discount,” pahayag ni Lumagui.
