Nanganganib masibak sa trabaho ang mahigit 300 tauhan ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) matapos mabigo na makatugon sa mandato ng batas na magkaroon sila ng college degree o makapasa sa civil service professional exam.
Sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 10575, o ang BuCor Act of 2013, ang mga aplikante ay kailangang may bachelor’s degree at nagtataglay ng naaangkop na civil service eligibility.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Jose Ventura Asturias legal counsel ng mga empleyado na ilan sa apektadong BuCor employees ay 30 hanggang 40 taon nang nasa serbisyo.
Hiling nilac, magkaroon pa ng dalawang taong extension dahil naapektuhan ng COVID-19 pandemic ang kanilang compliance.
Samantala, ayon naman kay Civil Service Commission Commissioner Aileen Lizada, hindi pa sila nakakatanggap ng notice of extension mula sa kasalukuyang pamunuan ng BuCor.
Nilinaw din ni Lizada na nakadepende pa rin sa pamunuan ng BuCor kung maglalabas ito ng extension o hindi.
Sa oras na magpadala ang BuCor ng notice of extension, agad daq tutugon ang CSC dito.
