Patay ang isang magnanakaw sa isinagawang hot pursuit operation ng mga operatiba ng Philippine National Police sa Nueva Ecija noong Myerkules, Pebrero 22.
Sa ulat ni Police Colonel Richard Caballero, Provincial Director ng Nueva Ecija PNP, dumating ang suspek na nakasuot ng dilaw na jacket at itim na helmet sa isang burger stand sa Rizal St. Barangay F.E. Marcos saka nagdeklara ng holdap.
Agad naman itong napigilan ng naka-duty na security guard ng kalapit mall kaya hindi nakaporma ang suspek. Kung kaya mabilis itong umeskapo gamit ang isang motorsiklo patungo sa Maharlika highway ng San Jose City.
Sa ikinasang hot pursuit operation, namataan ng kapulisan ang suspek sakay ng nasabing motorsiklo sa Barangay Abar 2nd.
Nang pahintuin siya para sa verification, binunot ng suspek ang kanyang baril at pinaputukan ang mga operatiba.
Gumanti ng putok ang mga pulis tinamaan ang suspek na naging sanhi ng kanyang kamatayan.
Narekober sa crime scene ang isang (1) Caliber 9mm at bala, at isang (1) Yamaha Mio 125 motorcycle na walang plate number.
Patuloy na inaalam ng mga awtoridad ang pagkakakilanlan ng suspek.
