Prinoklama na bilang 7th District Representative ng Cavite si Crispin Diego “Ping” Remulla, anak ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla matapos itong manalo sa isinagawang special election noong Pebrero 25, Sabado.
Nakakuha ng 98,474 na boto ang batang Remulla, sapat na numero upang umupo sa pwesto na binitawan ng kanyang ama simula nang naluklok ito bilang kalihim ng Department of Justice (DOJ).
Tinalo ni Ping Remulla ang mga kandidato na sina Melencio De Sagun Jr. na nakakuha ng 46,530 boto; Jose Angelito Domingo Aguinaldo, 1,610 na boto, at Michael Angelo Bautista (1,068).
Ayon kay Commission on Elections (COMELEC) spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco, nilahukan ng mahigit 149,000 na mga rehistradong botante ang nasabing special elections.
“It has been confirmed [that] 42.11 percent voter turnout on the total number of votes counted which is 149,581 out of the total 355,184 registered voters,” ani Laudiangco.
Ang ika-pitong distrito ng Cavite ay binubuo ng mga munisipalidad ng Amadeo, Indang, at Tanza gayundin ng siyudad ng Trece Martires.
