Tinalo ng reigning Japan B. League champion na Utsunomiya Brex ang PBA representive na Talk n Text Tropang Giga sa score na 99-66 sa ginanap na East Asia Super League (EASL) sa Nikkan Arena sa Japan noong February 28.
Unang quarter ay maganda ang pinakitang depensa ng Tropang Giga. Nalimitahan nila ang scoring ng koponan sa 25 points. Natapos ang first quarter na bitbit ng TNT sa puntos na 26-25.
Sa second quarter, in-outscore ng Brex ang TNT 32-8 sa loob lang ng second quarter. Natapos ang quarter na tambak ang TNT 57-34. Sa sumunod ang dalawang quarter, hindi na nagawang makahabol ng TNT sa kanilang koponan at natapos ang laro, 99-66 para sa Utsunomiya Brex.
“It wasn’t a beautiful game from us. Hats off to the home team … they played really well and it was obvious that the team had real chemistry and their imports played really well with the locals,” saad ni TNT coach Jojo Lastimosa.
“I’m not making excuses, but it showed that they’re very, very well coached as well. I just thought that we should’ve played a little better” dagdag pa nito.
Nag-ambag ang dalawang import ng Utsunomiya Brex na sina Jerrett Grant at Josh Scott ng 24 points at 20 points.
Habang nakagawa naman ang TNT import na si Jalen Hudson ng 28 points. Si Hudson lamang ang naka-score ng double figured at ang sumunod ay si Danie Ochefu na nakagawa naman ng 9 points.
Sunod na makakalaban ng TNT Tropang Giga ang champion ng Korea Basketball League na Seoul SK Nights.
