Sinuspinde na ng Land Transportation Office (LTO) ang lisensya ng motorcycle rider na nakuhanan sa video na nagsakay ng bata sa loob ng isang delivery box.
Sa cellphone video na ini-upload ng isang nangangalang Jeric Cruz at kuha noong February 24, makikita ang kamay ng isang bata na itinataas ang takip ng delivery box ng motorsiklo. Ayon sa rider, anak niya ang nasa utility box.
Matapos ang isinagawang imbestigasyon ng LTO, pinatawan na ng 90-day suspension ang rider na lumabag sa Section A, Title 1 ng Joint Administrative Order 2014-01 na tumatalakay sa pagmamaneho ng walang angkop na lisensiya.
Pinagsusumite rin ng ahensya ang rider ng isang liham upang ipaliwanag kung bakit hindi siya dapat makasuhan ng administratibo dahil sa paglabag sa Section 4 ng Republic Act 10666 (Children’s Safety on Motorcycles Act) ang ginawa ng rider.
Ayon kay LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division Officer-in-Charge Renan Melitante, non-professional license lamang ang pinanghahawakang lisensya ng nasabing rider na hindi naaangkop sa kanyang trabaho bilang isang delivery rider.
Dagdag pa rito, maaaring suspindihin o bawiin din ang kanyang lisensya kung siya ay mapatunayang “improper person to operate a vehicle” alinsunod sa Seksyon 27(a) ng RA 4136, ang Land Transportation and Traffic Code.
Ayon sa LTO, Inatasan nila ang rider na dalhin ang kanyang motorsiklo sa North Motor Vehicle Inspection Center ng ahensya habang isinasagawa ang imbestigasyon.
