Hindi napigilan ilabas ni Senator Raffy Tulfo ang pagkadismaya sa nangyari pagpaslang kay Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
Sa paghain ng Senate Resolution No. 517 kung saan kinokondena ng mga senador ang political killings, sinabi ni Tulfo na napigilan sana ang karumaldumal na pagpatay sa gobernador kung hindi nagkulang sa intelligence report ang mga awtoridad.
“Matagal nang nakakatanggap ng death threat si Governor Degamo, kung siya ay nakakatanggap ng death threat dapat binigyan siya ng maayos na seguridad.”
Nagpaabot din ng pakikiramay si Sen. Tulfo sa mga naulila ng gobernador at nagpasalamat sa mga pulis dahil sa pagkakaaresto sa mga suspek.
Gayunpaman, binigyan diin ng senador na kung meron sana police presence sa bahay ng gobernador, naprotektahan sana ang opisyal at mga inosenteng sibilyan.

Umaasa si Tulfo na gagawin ang lahat Philippine National Police (PNP) upang mapaamin ang mga nahuling suspek at sabihin kung sino ang mastermind.
