Sinibak ang buong hanay ng kapulisan ng Bayawan City, Negros Oriental kahapon matapos ang nangyaring pagpaslang kay Gov. Roel Degamo noong Sabado, Marso 4.
Ayon kay Police Lieutenant Colonel Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson ng Central Visayas-based Special Investigation Task Group, kasama rin sa mga inalis sa Bayawan City Police Station ang walong pulis na nakatalaga sa bahay ng gobernador noong nangyari ang krimen.
“The whole force of the Bayawan City Police Station was relieved. We have already sent the team who will compose the new members of Bayawan Police Station”.
Paliwanag ni Pelare, nanggaling ang desisyong ito sa Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters sa Camp Crame bilang bahagi ng kanilang operational at tactical decision upang masiguro na masusukol ng mga awtoridad ang mga natitirang suspek.
Matatandaang narekober sa Bayawan City ang matataas na mga kalibre ng baril at get-away vehicle na ginamit ng mga suspek sa pamamaslang.
Bukod dito, naaresto rin ang mga suspek na sina Joric Labrador, Joven Javier, Banjie Rodriguez, Osmundo Rivero na dating mga miyembro ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
“We want to make sure that we have fresh legs on the ground, to conduct the pursuit operations,” wika ni Pelare
Ang mga sinibak na mga pulis ay pansamantalang itinalaga sa Negros Oriental Provincial Office headquarters.
Samantala, nagpatupad naman ng maximum police visibility sa siyudad at mga karatig lugar ang PNP habang patuloy na isinasagawa ang manhunt operation para sa mga natitirang suspek. Layunin ng mga awtoridad na masiguro ang kapayapaan at kaligtasan ng mga mamamayan sa probinsya.
