Sa bisa ng limang search warrant na iginawad ng korte sa mga awtoridad, tinungo nila ang tatlong bahay na pag-aari umano ng Kongresista sa Barangay Malabugas, Bayawan City.
Lumutang ang pangalan ni “Cong Teves” matapos siyang ikanta ng mga suspek na siya umano ang nag-utos sa kanila na paslanging si Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.Dagdag pa ng mga suspek, na wala silang alam na si Degamo pala ang target ng assassination plot.
Samantala, nanindigan naman ang kampo ni Negros Oriental Rep. Arnie Teves na wala siyang kinalaman sa naging pamamaslang kay Gov. Degamo, gayundin sa iba pang krimeng ibinabato sa kanya.
Ayon sa abogado ni Teves na si Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, hindi nagtatago ang kanyang kliyente at matagal nang naka-schedule ang kanyang pagpunta sa Amerika para magpagamot.
Hindi naman nasabi kung kailan makakabalik ng bansa ang kongresista ngunit ayon sa travel clearance, hanggang March 9, 2023 lang ang travel leave nito.
