Kumpirmadong patay sa isang aksidente sa San Jose Negros Oriental ang isang reporter na nag-cover sa insidente ng pamamaslang kay Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo.
Ayon sa ulat ng National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP), naaksidente ang mediaman na si Pegeen Maisie Sararaña, 24-anyos, nakatira sa Carcar, Cebu. Naganap ang aksidente noong Linggo, Marso 12 sa Crossing Siapo sa Barangay Tampi, San Jose Negros Oriental
Si Sararaña ay isang multi-media reporter ng Cebu Daily News Digital na nasa Negros Oriental para sa isang coverage kaugnay sa pagpatay kay Gov. Roel Degamo at 8 iba pa sa kanyang tahanan sa bayan ng Pamplona noong Marso 4.
Base sa ulat ng pulisya, papauwi si Sararaña at kanyang kasama sakay ng motorsiklo nang araruhin ng isang truck ang kanilang sinasakyan habang naghihintay makatawid ng kalsada.
Agad isinugod sa Negros Polymedic Hospital ang dalawa subalit binawian din ng buhay si Sararaña noong gabi ng Marso 13.
Inaresto ng awtoridad ang driver ng truck na kinilala bilang ang 27-anyos na si Nielric Gaso subalit agad din itong nakalaya sa dahilang hindi agad nakapagsampa ng kaso ang pamilya ng biktima.
