Posibleng ipatupad ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board o LTFRB na manumbalik ang dating 9P na pamasahe sa mga tradisyunal na jeepney sa pamamagitan ng Service Contracting Program o SCP
Sinabi ni Teofilo Guadiz III, chairperson ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board o LTFRB, na ang panukalang pagbabalik sa pre-pandemic na P9 na minimum na pamasahe para sa tradisyunal na jeepney ay sakop ng P1.2 bilyong pondo mula sa Department of Budget and Management o DBM.
“We are just waiting for the downloading of the money to the LTFRB. Once it is downloaded, we will start the Service Contracting (Program),” saad ni Guadiz.
Umaasa si Guadiz na madadagdan pa ang budget sa programa upang mas madaming tao pa ang makagamit nito.
“I believe the budget may last only for about six months, half a year. So as early as now, I am requesting the DOTr to come up with additional funding so that we can stretch it until the end of the year,” dagdag pa ni Guadiz.
Kasalukuyang nasa 12 pesos ang pamasahe sa mga tradisyunal na Jeepney dahil sa ilang serye ng pagtaas ng gasolina noong nakaraang taon.
