Apat na ‘korporasyon’ ang nahaharap sa asunto matapos madiskubre ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) na nagbebenta umano ito ng mga peke o gawa-gawang resibo.
Kahapon, March 16, sinampahan ni BIR Commissioner Romeo Lamagui Jr. ang mga kumpanyang Buildforce Trading Inc., Crazykitchen Foodtrade Corp., Decarich Supertrade Inc. at Redington Corp dahil sa paglabag sa National Internal Revenue Code of 1997.
Ito ay matapos isagawa ng ahensiya ang isang raid noong Disyembre 2022 sa isang condominium sa Quezon City na nagresulta sa pagkumpiska ng libo-libong mga pekeng resibo.
Ayon kay Lamagui, wala umanong lehitimong mga business activity at pawang pagbebenta lamang ng mga pekeng invoice at resibo sa mga mamimili ang ginagawa ng nasabing mga korporasyon.
Dahil dito, nalugi aniya ang gobyerno ng nasa P17.63 billion sa total deficiency income tax at P7.91 billion naman sa total deficiency value added tax mula taong 2019 hanggang 2021.
“The financial magnitude of this syndicate issuing fictitious receipts is alarming. They are profiting from businesses through convincing their clients to ghost our tax authority,” wika ni Lamagui.
“I want to convey to the public, especially to the citizens who pay their correct taxes, the importance of all the activities that our agency is doing, especially the tightening of our enforcement activities. I will not allow such corruption to continue, we will suppress it to the best of our abilities,” dagdag nito.
