Umabot na ang Mindoro oil spill sa mala-paraisong bayan ng Taytay sa Palawan.
Ito ang kinumpirma ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) na nagsabing nakakuha na sila ng higit 300 liters ng langis sa barangay Casian at Calawag na sakop ng naturang bayan.
Ayon kay PCG-Palawan District Commander, Capt. Dennis Rem Labay, kanilang nakuha ang mga langis noong March 10 at 12.
Ang langis na mabilis na kumalat sa dagat at baybayin ng Mindoro at mga karatig-probinsya ay mula sa lumubog na motor tanker MT Princess Empress noong Pebrero 28.
KIlala ang Taytay dahil sa isa sa ipinagmamalaki nitong tourist destinations tulad ng Isla Blanca.
Sa nasabing isla isinasagawa ang pamosong island hopping at snorkelling activity dahil sa malawak nitong coral sandbar at coral garden.
Kaya naman ganun na lamang ang pangamba ng mga mamayan sa Taytay dahil sa tiyak na maapektuhan ang kanilang kabuhayan gaya ng pangingisda.
