“Parang naging domino effect na po. Lahat affected, tourism hanap-buhay. Lahat po sobrang affected na,” ani Cruz.
Sa pakikipag-usap ni Cruz sa mga eksperto, aabutin aniya ng anim na buwan hanggang isang taon ang oil spill clean up sa karagatan at baybayin.
Kaya naman nanawagan ang mayora na mabigyan ng alternative livelihood program ang mga residente lalo na ang mga mangingisda.
Samantala, binatikos naman ni ACT-CIS Representative Edvic Yap ang kompanya na nasa likod ng lumubog na barko na bigyan ng ayuda ang mga naapektuhan ng oil spill sa Mindoro.
“Napansin ko na pawang gobyerno lang ang nagbibigay ng ayuda, wala pakunswelo ang kompanya ng barko. Kahit man lang tig-two kilos na lang ng bigas, siguro makakatulong na sa mga biktima ito”, payag ni Yap.
Sa isinagawang projection ng University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute (UP-MSI), maaaring umabot sa Puerto Galera at Batangas ang oil spill base na rin sa agos ng tubig at ihip ng hangin.
Matatandaang may kargang industrial fuel oil ang lumubog na MT Princess Empress noong Pebrero 28.
