Nakatakdang lumipad patungong United States (US) sa susunod na buwan si dating ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacio.
Plano ni Pacio na hasain pa ang ang kanyang mga kakayahan sa larangan ng mixed martial arts (MMA).
Ang 27-anyos na si Pacio ay isa sa apat na ex-world champions na humiwalay kamakailan sa Team Lakay kabilang ang Pinoy MMA icon na si Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belingon at Honorio Banario.
“I want to level up. People are saying that I got lazy because I became a world champion, but no, I also do my own research to level up in training and skills. I add those to my arsenal to what they teach in Team Lakay that is why I became a champion,” wika ni Pacio sa panayam ng Sparring Sessions.
Ayon kay Pacio, maglilibot siya sa iba’t-ibang gym sa Amerika upang tuklasin at punan ang mga aspeto na aniya ay kulang sa kanyang mga kakayahan.
“I want to level up in all aspects of my game,” ani Pacio. “We are going to try Jackson Wink MMA. Not only that we will also do gym hopping to add to our mixed martial arts knowledge.”
“I know what I am lacking. People say that I am the best strawweight ever, but like I always say I am not even at my peak yet. I want to get that by going out of my comfort zone. I want to reach my full potential as an MMA athlete,” dagdag nito.
Si Pacio ay may professional MMA record na 20-4. Siya ang tinaguriang longest reigning world champion ng Team Lakay subalit nabigo ito kontra kay Jarred Brooks sa kanilang bakbakan sa ONE 164 noong Disyembre nakaraang taon.
