Natagpuan ang tanker sa pamamagitan ng remotely operated vehicle (ROV) ng Japan. Pinaniniwalaan na nasa lalim na 400 meters ang lumubog na tanker.
Patuloy pa din nagsasagawa ng mga hakbang ang mga awtoridad upang mapigilan ang pagkalat ng langis mula dito.
Samantala, sinabi ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) na nakitaan nila ng mababang antas ng contaminants ang mga nakuhang isda mula sa karagatan na naapektuhan ng oil spill.
Gayunpaman, binanggit ng BFAR na ang mga resulta ng mga pagsusuri ay hindi pa conclusive o pinal kung ligtas itong itong kainin.
Nangako ang BFAR na regular nilang susuriin ang mga sample ng tubig at isda sa mga apektadong karagatan dulot ng oil spill.
Lumubog ang MT Princess Empress noong Pebrero 28 na naglalaman ng 800,000 litro ng industrial oil na nakakaapekto sa 143,000 na residente sa Mindoro, Palawan at Antique.
