Nahaharap ngayon sa water crisis ang Pilipinas, ayon kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Ang pahayag na ito ay kasabay ng kanyang anunsyo sa pagbuo ng department of water management upang matugunan ang kasalukuyang kinakaharap na krisis ng bansa sa tubig.
Sa kanyang pagdalo sa 6th Water Philippines Conference and Exposition sa Pasay City ngayong Huwebes, sinabi ni Marcos na dapat tularan ng Pilipinas ang magandang mga pamamaraan ng ibang bansa sa water management.
“These are the kinds of thinking that we have to apply to the Philippines because of the crisis we are facing and how debilitating it will be to the entire economy, to entire society if our water supply problem continues to get greater,” wika ng Pangulo.
Sinabi ni Marcos na sa pamamagitan ng paglikha ng office of water management, mas makakabuo ang pamahalaan ng mga “cohesive policies” sa pagtugon sa problema sa tubig.
“I am optimistic because when I look around and I see the technologies and the desire for every – both in the local governments, both in the private sector – the desire to be able to provide this water supply, then, that’s where my optimism comes from,” ani nito.
Sa kasalukuyan, wala pang inilalabas na kopya ng pinirmahang executive order ang Palasyo.
