Nasa 1,391 na mga lumabag na motorista ang nahuli sa unang araw ng pagpapatupad ng exclusive motorcycle lane sa kahabaan ng Commonwealth Avenue sa Quezon City kahapon, Marso 27.
Ayon sa Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), ang nasabing numero ay base sa datos ng ahensya at ng pulis trapiko ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Quezon City.
Ang mga paglabag sa unang araw ay katumbas ng P695,000 na kita ng gobyerno sapagkat P500 na multa ang ipinapataw sa mga motorsiklo gayundin sa pribadong mga sasakyan. P1,200 naman ang multa para sa mga public utility vehicles (PUV).
Base sa datos, nasa kabuuang 532 motorsiklo ang nahuli dahil sa paglabas ng motorcycle lane habang 859 na pribadong sasakyan naman ang nasita dahil sa pagpasok sa nasabing exclusive lane.
Matatandaang nagsagawa ng dalawang linggong dry-run ang MMDA at Quezon City government upang mapamilyar ang mga motorista sa ipinatutupad na motorcycle lane.
Magtatapos sana ang nasabing dry run noong Marso 19 ngunit pinalawig ito hanggang Marso 26 dahil sa malaking bilang ng mga lumalabag na nahuhuli araw-araw sa Commonwealth Avenue.
