Inaresto ng Philippine National Police – Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) and apat na dayuhan kaugnay sa umano’y pagdukot at pagpatay sa isang Filipino-Chinese businessman sa Quezon City noong Marso 18.
Kinilala ng PNP-AKG ang mga naarestong suspek na sina Bei Huimin, 30; Jielong Shen, 26; Sun XiaoHui, 26, pawang mga Chinese; at Hong Puc Le, 33, isang Vietnamese national. Inaresto ang tatlo habang wini-withdraw ang ransom money sa isang bangko sa Parañaque City habang sii Hong naman ay naaresto din sa ganung akto sa isang bangko naman sa Taguig City.
Sa isang press conference kahapon (Marso 27), sinabi ni PNP spokesperson Colonel Jean Fajardo na dinukot ang 62-anyos na biktimang Chinese-Filipino habang naglalakad ito sa tabing kalsada patungo sa kanyang hardware store sa Quezon City noong Marso 18.
Narekober sa Tanza, Cavite noong Marso 22 ang kanyang mga labi, na may mga senyales ng torture, kabilang ang naputol na daliri.
Ayon kay Fajardo, nakapagbigay ng halos P1 milyon na ransom ang pamilya ng biktima sa mga suspek.
Patuloy ang imbestigasyon ng PNP sa posibilidad na may sangkot din na mga Pilipino sa nangyaring krimen.
