‘Imposible at hindi makatotohanan’, ito ang naging pahayag ni Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte sa panawagan ng isang grupo ukol sa pagkuha ng serbisyo ng 30,000 na public school teachers taon-taon na may kaukulang P100 bilyon na pondo.
Mariing tinutulan ni Duterte ang panukalang ito ng Alliance of all Concerned Teachers (ACT) sa Department of Education (DepEd) na mag-hire ng 30,000 na mga guro ang ahensya hanggang taong 2028 upang makamit ang ideal ratio ng isang klase na may 35 na mga estudyante.
Ayon kay Duterte, ‘halatang mapanlinlang’ ang iminungkahi ng grupo at hindi makakatulong sa administrasyon sa pagtugon nito sa mga problemang kinakaharap ng bansa sa edukasyon.
“The call could not be coming from a place of genuine concern for the future of our learners and the welfare of our teachers,” wika ni Duterte
“Instead, it is a call motivated by the group’s fascination for demands and goals that are unrealistic and impossible — placing the government in a precarious situation that will ultimately end in failure,” dagdag nito.
Bukod dito, sinabi rin ni Duterte na ang mga pahayag ng ACT ay naglalayong ilihis ang atensyon ng publiko mula sa serye ng mga karahasang ginawa ng New People’s Army (NPA) sa Masbate.
“ACT Teachers, while silent about the NPA operations, apparently needed to come up with something outrageous to divert the public’s attention away from the damage that the NPA attacks caused to our Masbate learners,” wika nito.
