Ginawaran bilang global tourism ambassador of the Philippines ang Fil-Am Hollywood actress na si Vanessa Hudgens sa Malacañang noong Huwebes March 30, 2023.
Sa isang opisyal na pahayag, sinabi nito na ang titulo ay ibinibigay sa “exceptional and outstanding individuals for their contributions to help promote the Philippines as one of the world’s best tourism destinations.”
Sa harap ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco at Office of the Presidential Adviser on Creative Communications Secretary Paul Soriano ibinigay kay Hudgens ang nasabing titulo.
Ito ang unang pagkakataon na makabisita sa bansa si Hudgens.
Gagawa din siya ng isang special documentary na tatalakay sa kanyang pagiging Half Filipina na ididirek ni Soriano.
Ang ina ni Vanessa na si Gina Guangco-Hudgens ay tubong Mindanao.
