Isiniwalat ng Special Task Force “DEGAMO” ang mga mukha ng 11 mga suspek sa pagpatay kay Gov. Roel Degamo at 8 pang biktima kanina, April 3, 2023.
Sa Joint Press Briefing, kabilang sa mga iprinisintang suspek ay si Marvin Halaman Miranda alyas “Makoy” na long time security at bodyguard ni Cong. Arnolfo Teves Jr.
Base sa mga rebelasyon at testimonya ng mga nahuling suspek, si Miranda umano ang nag-utos sa kanila upang patayin si Degamo mula daw sa utos ng kanyang “Big Boss, Idol, Cong at Kalbo”.
Nang tanungin naman ng media si Department of Justice Secretary Jose Crispin Remulla kung sino ang tinutukoy nito, tahasang nitong binanggit ang pangalan ni “Cong. Arnolfo Teves Jr.”
Pero sabi ni Remulla, hindi pa aniya pwedeng kasuhan si Teves dahil kailangan pa aniya nito dumaan sa preliminary investigation.
“Due Process ang inoobeserve natin hindi natin pwede kasuhan ng walang preliminary investigation yung dalawa at ganun ang ginagawa natin ngayon sapagkat ang requirement ng batas ay payagan silang sumagot muna ng kanilang counter affidavit saka natin huhusgahan at ipa-file ng prosecutors bago ito i-file sa korte,” ani Remulla.
Maituturing na din daw nila na “case closed” ang Degamo case dahil sa pagka-aresto ni Miranda.
Nahuli si Miranda noong Biyernes, March 31 ng mga alagad ng National Bureau of Investigation sa isang mountain resort sa Barbaza, Antique.
