Inihayag ng Manila Electric Company (Meralco) na magtatapyas sila ng P0.118 kada kilowatt hour (kWh) na singil sa kuryente ngayon Abril.
Ayon kay Meralco spokesperson Joe Zaldarriaga, isa mga dahilan ay ang pagbaba ng generation at transmission charges.
Dahil sa bawas-singil, ang overall electricity rate ngayong buwan ay magiging P11.3168 kada kWh na lamang, mula sa P11.4348/kWh noong Marso.
Katumbas ito ng P24 bawas-singil para sa mga tahanang kumukonsumo ng 200 kwh kada buwan; P35 sa 300 kwh; P47 sa 400 kwh at P59 sa mga tahanang nakagagamit ng 500 kwh kada buwan.
