Bahaghari Philippines, alyansa ng mga LGBTQIA+ advocates, inalmahan ang Land Transportation Office (LTO) dahil sa paglalagay ng LGBTQ sa priority lane.
Mababasa sa twitter post ng BAHAGHARI ang kanilang naging reaksyon sa priority lane ng LTO, bagama’t maganda ang intensyon nito ay nagpapakita naman ito ng hindi magandang imahe sa mga miyembro ng LGBTQIA+.
Ayon din sa BAHAGHARI, hindi kapansanan ang pagiging miyembro ng LGBTQIA+ kaya dapat lamang na alisin sila sa priority lane dahil lalo lamang itong makadaragdag sa hindi tamang trato sa kanila.
Dagdag pa ni Reyna Valmores, chairperson ng BAHAGHARI Philippines, Mas makakatulong umano sa kanila ang pagsasabatas ng SOGIE Equality Bill.
Ang layunin ng SOGIE bill ay para protektahan ang mga miyembro ng LGBTQIA+ sa iba’t ibang uri ng diskrimninasyon at para sa pantay na pagtrato para sa lahat.
Matatandaan na ibinalik noong Pebrero sa Senate Committee Level matapos sabihin ng Evangelical group na hindi pa sapat ang kanilang oras para makapagbigay ng kanilang pahayag para sa nasabing bill. Habang nagkaroon naman ng magkaibang opinyon sa House of representative na nakasagabal sa hearing nito.
