Mariing kinondena ng Commission on Human Rights (CHR) ang sunod-sunod na kaso ng mga sexual abuse na naganap kamakailan sa Cavite, Davao City, Batangas at Pampanga.
Ibinunyag ng CHR na ang mga nasabing pang aabuso sa mga menor de edad ay nangyari lamang sa buwan ng Abril ngayong taon.
“We have mobilized our regional offices to conduct an independent investigation of these cases and seek ways to extend support to authorities and the victims’ families,” saad ng CHR sa isang pahayag.
Nitong April 7, 2023, isang 7-anyos na batang babae ang natagpuang sugatan sa tabing ilog sa Barangay Cabuco, Trece Martires, Cavite. Isinugod sa ospital ang biktima subalit idineklara itong dead-on-arrival. Nananatiling takas sa batas ang suspek sa krimen na sinasabing ninong ng biktima.
Isang 10-taong gulang na batang babae naman ang natagpuang wala nang buhay sa isang taniman ng saging sa Davao City noong April 9, 2023. Naaresto ng pulisya ang suspek na kalive-in partner ng kanilang kamag-anak matapos itong sumuko sa mga awtoridad.
Noong araw ding yun, isang 3-anyos na batang babae naman ang ginahasa ng kanyang lolo sa kanilang tahanan sa bayan ng Santo Domingo sa Batangas habang wala ang mga magulang nito.

“CHR is gravely alarmed by this spate of sexual assault committed against very young girls. CHR deplores all acts of gender-based violence, especially when it involves vulnerable children whose perpetrators are family members and acquaintances exploiting the victims’ trust,” wika ng CHR.
