Ilalabas na sa susunod na buwan ang desisyon ng isa sa dalawang natitirang drug case ni dating Sen. Leila de Lima.
Ayon sa abogado ng senador na si Atty. Filibon Tacardon, inaasahan nila na ilalabas ang desisyon ng Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 204 sa Mayo 12.
“We will soon find out if former senator Leila de Lima is innocent of the charges. We are asking our countrymen to pray for the dismissal of the case filed against her,” pahayag ni Tacardon.
Nag-mula ang kaso ng senador sa akusasyon ng dating Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) officer-in-charge Rafael Ragos na tumanggap umano ng drug money si De Lima.
Nauna nang binawi ni Ragos ang kanyang pahayag at nilinis ang pangalan ni de Lima, gayundin ang self-confessed drug lord na si Kerwin Espinosa. Humingi na din sila ng tawad sa sendor.
Samantala, nakabinbin pa rin aniya ang kanilang petition for bail sa isa pang kaso laban kay De Lima sa Muntinlupa RTC Branch 256. Noong Pebrero ng 2021, dinismis ng Muntinlupa City RTC Branch 205 ang isa sa tatlong drug case laban kay De Lima.
Minarkahan noong Pebrero ang ika anim na taon ng senadora sa Philippine National Police Custodial Center sa Camp Crame sa Quezon City.
