Pinaghahandaan na ng Department of Foreign Affairs ang pag-evacuate ng mga Pilipino sa Sudan na kasalukuyang nadadamay sa gyera sa pagitan ng Sudanese Armed Forces at Rapid Support Forces paramilitary group.
Ayon kay DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs Eduardo Jose A. de Vega, sinabing inaayos na ang mga gagamiting mga buses pang evacuate sa mga Pilipino.
“Within the next 24 hours, we will dispatch evacuation buses going to Egypt for our countrymen,” saad ni de Vega nitong Lunes.
Sinabi rin ni de Vega na sasagutin ng gobyerno ang lahat ng gastusin sa paglikas at ang mga nakauwi na Pilipino ay hindi papayagang makabalik sa Sudan hanggang sa humupa ang nangyayaring labanan.
Idinagdag niya na ang mga overseas Filipino worker doon na walang valid passport ay dapat makipag-ugnayan sa Philippine Embassy sa Cairo para humiling ng accomodation mula sa Egyptian government.
“Even if they do not have a valid passport, they need something that will show their identity such as other IDs or photocopies of their passport,” dagdag pang sinabi ni DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs.
