Nangako si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ng buong suporta sa mga atletang Pilipino na mag-rerepresenta ng watawat sa 32nd Southeast Asian Games sa Cambodia ngayong Mayo.
“If there is anything more that this government can do, that this administration can do, that I personally can do, you please make sure you will tell me because we are all rooting for you and we all want to do everything that we can do to make you as successful as you possibly can in your chosen events,” saad ni Marcos.
Inihayag ng Pangulo ang kaniyang suporta sa send off ceremony na inorganisa ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) noong Lunes (April 24) sa Philippine International Convention Center.
“I thank you all for the honor and glory that you bring to our country. Now, you’re all going to the next SEA Games and everyone seems to be ready,” saad ni Marcos.
“Our country’s hopes, dreams and aspirations for the Philippines ride with you. You have 107 million countrymen na walang gagawin kung hindi magdasal na manalo kayo.” Dagdag pang sinabi ni PBBM.
Sinabi naman ni Philippine Olympic Committee chair Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino na magsisilbing dagdag motibasyon sa mga atleta ang mga binitawang words of encouragement ni PBBM sa mga atleta.
Noong nakaraang SEA Games, nagtapos ang Pilipinas sa fourth place na humakot ng 52 golds, 70 silvers, at 104 bronzes.
Gaganapin ang 32nd SEA Games mula May 5 hanggang 17 sa Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
