Malaki ang maitutulong sa turismo ng bagong Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) ferry sa probinsya ng Cebu at Bohol.
Sa isang pahayag na inilabas ng Lite Shipping Corporation sa Tagbilaran city, ang MV Lite Ferry Seven ang bagong RoRo na madaragdag. Mayroon umano itong kapasidad na makapag-sakay ng 300 na pasahero, 18 na ten-wheeler trucks at 10 kotse.
Ginawa ang sasakyan ng RINA of Italy sa bansang China na natapos noong 2022.
Sa isang event noong Lunes (Abril 22), sinabi ni Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Administrator Hernani Fabia na ang paglulunsad ng mga bagong RoRo ferry ay isang milestone dahil sa patuloy na paglago ng turismo sa Bohol.
“The MARINA, through the Maritime Industry Development Plan, is determined to build a strong foundation and create more catalysts for the development of maritime tourism in the Philippines,” sabi ni Fabia sa kanyang talumpati.
Ang pagpapalawak ng Lite Shipping Corporations fleet ay pinaubaya ng MARINA sa MV Lite Ferry Seven sa rutang Oslob, Cebu patungong Dapitan City at Dipolog City. Ang nasabing shipping corporation’s ferries ay may 32 na destinasyon na magsisilbing tulay sa probinsya ng Sorsogon, Samar, Northern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental, Siquijor, Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, at Zamboanga del Norte bilang parte ng Strong Republic Nautical Highway.
