Libo-libong Sunflower sa agro-tourism site sa barangay ng Maruaya sa Piddig, Ilocos Norte ang muling namumulaklak dahilan upang dumagsa ang mga turista dito.
Ang nasabing agro-tourism project ay nasa pamumuno ng Piddig Organic Farmer’s Association na naglalayong maipakita ang magandang gawi ng bayan pagdating sa agrikultura.
Ayon sa municipal agriculturist ng Piddig na si Harvey Adap, pinapakita ng farm na ito ang iba’t ibang uri ng sistema ng organic farming. Kasabay ng pagbuo nila sa farm bilang isang agro-tourism enterprise, tinuturuan din nila ang kanilang mga magsasaka kung paano kumita sa pamamagitan ng diversified farming at paggamit ng teknolohiya sa pagtatanim.
Maliban sa mga sunflowers, mayroon ding makukulay na art installations dito na siyang nakakadagdag atraksyon sa lugar.
Ang farm ay mayroong “pick and pay” kung saan maaaring pumitas at bumili ng mga napapanahong prutas, gulay, at mga bulaklak.
Ang entrance fee sa naturang lugar ay Php 50 kada tao. Libre naman ang entrance para sa mga batang nasa edad dose (12) pababa. Nagbubukas ang farm mula alas siyete (7) ng umaga hanggang ala sais (6) ng gabi araw-araw kahit holiday.
