Hangad ni Gilas head coach Chot Reyes na bumuo ng mas malakas pa sa 2014 World Cup roster para sa paparating na FIBA World Cup 2023.
Ayon kay Reyes ito ang dapat nilang targetin dahil na din sa mas tumitindi pa ang kalidad ng laro sa world basketball scene.
“It’s a kind of situation where I’ve been here before. I kind of know what to expect, but then again, the game is always evolving. Our competition is always evolving and getting better. So, it is incumbent on us to match that. To continue to be better,” saad ni Reyes.
Noong 2014 FIBA World Cup, tinapos ng Gilas ang kanilang kampanya sa pamamagitan ng 81-79 overtime win laban sa Senegal. Ito ay matapos ang apat na dikit na talo sa Croatia, Greece, Argentina at Puerto Rico.
“I think if we come in with the game that we brought in in 2014, it’s not gonna be enough. We have to be much, much better. And I hope that from now to then, we can find a way to really become a much better team,” saad ni PBA Champion Chot Reyes.
