Nagpahayag ng kaniyang pagkabahala si Senator Raffy Tulfo ukol sa posibilidad na masakop ng China ang power grid ng Pilipinas.
Sa isinagawang senate hearing Miyerkules ng umaga, dinikdik ng Tulfo ang mga opisyal ng National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) ukol sa kakayahan ng China na kontrolin ang daloy ng kuryente sa bansa.
Ito’y matapos malaman ng senador na 40% ng NGCP ay pagmamay-ari ng State Grid Corporation of China.
“I’ve heard this sa intelligence community natin dito sa Pilipinas and they were telling me ‘Senator Tulfo this poses a national security threat, itong 40% na pag-aari ng State Grid of China na dapat po ay gobyerno natin ang namamahala,” ani Tulfo.
Dagdag ni Tulfo, ito umano ang dahilan kung bakit niya sinabi kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, jr. na dapat nang ilipat ang systems operations ng NGCP ay mailipat na sa National Transmission Corporation (TransCo).
“I’m afraid for our people. I’m very scared. I love my country. Ayoko na isang araw pag-gising natin mayroon na pong nangyari na hindi ka-nais nais sa ating bansa na tayo po ay brownout na sensitive facilities natin kasama na ang military installations,” dagdag ni Tulfo sa Commitee on Energy hearing kung saan siya ang chairperson.
