Inirekomenda ni Senator Raffy Tulfo ang pagpataw ng mas mabigat na parusa sa mga pulis na hindi gagamit ng body cameras sa kanilang operasyon.
Sa isinagawang hearing ng Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, ginisa ni Tulfo si Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. ukol sa umano’y hindi pag-maximize ng body cameras sa mga operasyon.
Binasa ni Tulfo ang circular order No. 2018-009 ng PNP na nagpapataw ng administrative sanction ang mga hindi susunod sa kautusan katulad ng suspension.
“Ang sa akin po gusto ko one-strike policy sana. Kasi po may memorandum circular na kailangan magsuot ka ng body cam,” ani Tulfo.
Nais sana ni Tulfo na demotion o sibak sa serbisyo ang penalty lalo na sa mga drug-related operations.
Ginawa ni Tulfo ang panawagan sa isinagawang senate hearing noong Martes (May 23) ukol sa 990 kilos ng droga na nakumpiska sa isang lending office na pagmamay-ari ng isang dating pulis.
“Maari po yun. Katunayan kung itong nangyari sa 990 mapapatunayan, na dapat ay may body-worn cameras sila subalit talagang itinago nila ang kanilang operation at hindi nagsuot. Maidadagdag po yun sa asunto ng mga pulis na ito,” pagtitiyak ni National Police Commission vice chairman Alberto Bernardo.
