Matapos manalasa sa Guam, nanumbalik ang lakas ni Super Typhoon Mawar at patuloy na tinutumbok ang Pilipinas bilang susunod na destinasyon.
Huling namataan ng PAGASA si Mawar 2,130 kilometers east ng southeastern Luzon 3 a.m. ngayong Huwebes taglay ang lakas ng hangin na 185 kilometers per hour malapit sa gitna. Umaabot naman sa 230kph ang bugso ng kaniyang hangin.
Inaasahan na papasok si Mawar sa Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Biyernes ng gabi o Sabado ng umaga at papangalanan itong Betty.
Pagpasok nito sa PAR, inaasahan din ng PAGASA na lalakas ito sa 215kph araw ng Linggo at hahatakin naman nito ang habagat na posibleng magbigay ng matitinding ulan sa western part ng southern Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao ngayong weekend.
“Current track scenario shows that the rain bands of the typhoon may bring heavy rains over Cagayan Valley between Sunday and Tuesday next week,” ayon sa latest PAGASA weather bulletin.
