Aprubado na sa Senado ang House Bill No. 2212 na naglalayon na magtayo ng specialty hospitals sa bawat rehiyon sa Pilipinas.
Sa ilalim ng nasabing bill, magtatayo ng isang specialty hospital kada rehiyon depende sa kung anong sakit ang madalas na nararanasan ng mga mamayan sa bawat rehiyon.
Inaatasan ng nasabing panukala ang Department of Health na bigyan prayoridad ang pagpapatayo ng heart, lung at kidney centers at dapat ay kapantay nito ang kalidad na ibinibigay ng mga specialty hospitals na nasa Metro Manila.
Ayon sa sponsor ng bill na si Senator Bong Go, may nakalaan nang initial budget na P8.6 billion sa 2023 2023 General Appropriations Act para sa nasabing programa.
