Itinaas ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) ang Alert Level 2 sa Mayon Volcano ngayong Lunes (June 5).
Ibig sabihin nito, kasalukuyang may alboroto ang bulkan dahil na din sa unti-unting paglusaw ng magma na posibleng magdulot ng pag-init ng tubig na magdudulot naman sa ilang mga pagsabog.
“In case of ash fall events that may affect communities downwind of Mayon’s crater, people should cover their nose and mouth with [a] damp, clean cloth or dust mask,” ayon sa 10AM bulletin ng Phivolcs.
Sa ngayon ay mas tumaas ang rock falls sa bulkan mula sa average na lima kada araw pataas ng 49 kada araw. Ang Mayon Volcano ang kinukunsiderang most active volcano sa Pilipinas. Huli itong sumabog noong 2018.
