Aprubado na ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. ang pilot at full implementation ng “Walang Gutom 2027” food stamp program ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Sa isang press conference noong Martes sa Malacanang, sinabi ni Malacañang Press Briefer Daphne Oseña-Paez na ibinigay ni Pangulong Marcos ang approval sa kanilang sectoral meeting.
Ayon naman kay DSWD Secretary Rex Gachalian, agad nilang ipapatupad ang pilot run ng food stamp program na tatakbo ng anim na buwan.
“From the pilot (test), we will see the nuances – what needs to be improved, what needs to be enhanced, what needs to be discontinued. It will run for six months,” wika ni Gatchalian.
Ibinunyag pa ni Gatchalian ang dahilan kung bakit dapat muna magkaroon ng pilot testing ang nasabing programa.“We are doing the pilot so that we don’t end up with wasteful spending. We want to make sure that when we do expand the program on its regular run, even if the President already approved it, we want to learn from the pilot and we want to start right. That’s the takeaway,” ani Gatchalian.
