Isinisi ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. sa hoarding ang dahilan kung bakit tumaas ang presyo ng sibuyas sa pagsisimula ng taon.
Sa panayam kay Marcos noong 125th anniversary ng Department of Agrivulture, sinabi nito na hoarding lang ang malinaw na dahilan sa pagtaas ng presyo ng sibuyas.
“I think maliwanag na maliwanag na sa ating lahat na ‘yung pagtaas ng presyo by 87% noong nakaraang… Enero, Pebrero, walang dahilan ’yun. Kumpleto ang onion natin dito. Nagho-hoard lang talaga at iniipit ang presyo,” ani Marcos. “Tapos ‘yung cold storage ay hindi pinapagamit sa iba para ‘yung kontrolado lang… ‘Yung mga sindikato, ‘yung kontrolado lang nila na onion, ‘yun lang ang puwedeng aabot sa palengke.”
Umabot sa P420 hanggang P600 kada kilo ang presyo ng sibuyas sa Metro Manila pagpasok ng taon.
Tiniyak naman ni Marcos na ginagawan nan nila ng paraan na matigil na ang gawain ng mga sinasabing sindikato.
“Lahat pinapatibay din natin and we are making sure that first of all, simple lang, ‘yung mga simpleng problema na hinarap natin,” dagdag ni Marcos.”‘Yung mga rice smuggling, sugar smuggling, onion smuggling, gagawin namin lahat para matigil ‘yan.”Si Marcos ang kasalukuyang secretary din ng Agriculture Department.
