Nagbigay ng relief aid ang Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) sa libo-libong mga tao na naapektuhan ng pag-alboroto ng Mayon Volcano.
Kamakailan lamang ay pormal na ibinigay ni PAGCOR Chairman at CEO Alejandro Tengco ang 6,000 packs na naglalaman ng food at non-food items kay Albay 2nd District Representative Joey Salceda na isinagawa sa executive office ng ahensiya sa Maynila.
Ang mga nasabing relief goods ay ipapamahagi sa mga residente ng iba’t ibang bayan sa Albay na agad inilikas nang ideklarang nasa danger zone ang kanilang komunidad ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
Ayon kay Salceda, kailangan nila ang lahat ng tulong na kanilang matatanggap ngayong walang katiyakan kung kalian titigil ang aktibidades ng Mayon.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako dahil laging nariyan ang PAGCOR para tumulong. Lalo na’t kailangang- kailangan namin ng suporta dahil pangmatagalan ang aktibidad ng Mayon at sa ngayon nga ay nasa 15,000 katao na ang apektado,” ani Salceda.
Samantala tiniyak naman ni Tengco na kanilang naiintindihan ang kalagayan ng mga residente malapit sa Mayon.
“We hope that these care packages that we donated to affected Albayanos will bring relief to their difficult situation. Rest assured that PAGCOR will do what it can to answer the call for help of our affected kababayans,” pahayag ni Tengco.
Taong 2018 nang magpaabot ng tulong ang PAGCOR sa libo-libong residente ng Albay na naapektuhan noon ng phreatic eruption ng bulkan. Nagsagawa noon ang state-run gaming firm ng feeding programs para sa libo-libong tao sa iba’t ibang evacuation centers sa Tabaco, Malilipot, Camalig, Legazpi City, Daraga, Guinobatan, at Sto. Domingo sa Albay.
