Ibinasura ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ang apila ng kampo ni Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo Teves, Jr. na mag-inhibit ang ahensiya sa Gov. Roel Degamo murder case.
Una nang nagsampa ng apila ang kampo ni Teves na mailipat sa Office of the Ombudsman sa nasabing kaso na nag-aakusa sa kaniya bilang mastermind sa pagpatay kay Degamo noong March 4.
“The motion for inhibition was denied because for them, as a panel, they act independently,” ani Andres Manuel, isa sa mga abogado ni Teves.
Ito din ay dinipensahan ni DOJ assistant secretary at spokesperson Jose Dominic Clavano.
“They are instructed by the Rules of Court to afford due process to the respondents, and in fact, the panel of prosecutors has given every right to the respondents to respond via their counter-affidavits,” ani Clavano.
Ito naman ay ikinatuwa ng biyuda ni Degamo na si Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo.“They know what they are doing. Pinag-aralan nila ‘yan kung ano magiging outcome ng kanilang hinahawakan at binabasa na documents coming from all parties,” ani Degamo.
