Ang North Luzon Expressway Corporation (NLEX) ay nagsusulong ng pagkakaroon ng toll fee ang connector roads nito, dahil sa halos kalahating milyon na nasasayang umano sa pagdaan ng mga motorista ng libre.
Sa loob ng nakaraang tatlong buwan, libre ang daan at walang toll fee ang connector road ng NLEX. Ito ay pinayagang gamitin ng ganitong katagal upang hayaan ang mga motorista na maranasan ang kaginhawaan sa pagdaan sa nasabing daanan.
Ngunit dahil dito, malaki ang naging epekto nito sa NLEX Corp. dahil malaking pera ang nawala sa kanila sa loob lamang ng tatlong buwan. Sinasabing P473,000 ang araw-araw na lugi sa kita ng kumpanya.
Ayon kay J. Luigi Bautista, NLEX Corp. president and general manager, ang toll fee sa buong NLEX Connector Road ay P125 para sa mga class 1 na sasakyan, mga regular na sasakyan at SUVs nakasaad sa kanilang proposal. Inaasahan na maaprubahan ang ipinasang proposal sa susunod na buwan at masimulan ang pagkakaroon ng toll fee simula Agosto ng kasalukuyang taon.
