Tuloy pa din ang pagtaas ng seismic activity ng Mayon Volcano habang patuloy na nananatili ito sa Alert Level 3.
Sa advisory ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), tuloy ang mga pagyanig sapul nang ma-monitor ito pasado alas-3 ng hapon ng Lunes hanggang Martes ng hapon.
“These events last approximately 11 seconds and recur at intervals of 5 seconds. This resulted in an abrupt and sustained increase in the level of seismic energy release beginning 03 July 2023,” ani statement ng PHIVOLCS.
Bukod pa dito, na-monitor din ng PHIVOLCS ang pagtaas pa ng sulfur dioxide emission at ilang mga ash falls sa ilang parte ng Bicol. Sa ngayon pinaghahanda na ng awtoridad ang mga residente na nasa loob ng 7-8 kilometer radius danger zone ang posibilidad ng paglikas.
