Kamakailan ay pormal nang nakapasok sa 2024 Paris Olympics si Obiena matapos niyang makamit ang qualifying mark sa isang event sa Sweden.
Sa kabila nito ay tuloy pa din para kay Obiena ang mas mapataas pa ang kaniyang kakayahan para matiyak din ang isang matagumpay na Olympic campaign.
“We continue THE WORK as we still have lots to do. Made some rookie mistakes yesterday. It just shows I am still a student of the game,” ani Obiena sa isang Instagram post.
Bukod kay Obiena, pasok din si 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medalist Armand Duplantis ng Sweden na siyang tumapos bilang first place sa parehong Swedish event na sinalihan ni Obiena. Hawk ni Obiena ang kasalukuyang Asian record na 6.0 meters. Balik –aksyon si Obiena sa July 7 para magkampaniya sa Meeting International de Sotteville sa France.
