Personal na dinaluhan ni Vice-President Sara Duterte ang signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) sa pagitan ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) at ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) kahapon Agosto 1.
Ayon kay PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco, P120 milyong donasyon ang inilaan ng kaniyang ahensya sa OVP upang mapalawig pa ang pro-poor advocacies ng bise presidente partikular ang medical at burial assistance programs.
“Isang karangalan para sa amin ang maging bahagi ng pagsisikap ng OVP na tugunan ang mga pangangailangang medikal at pinansyal ng mga maralitang mamamayan. Sa pamamagitan ng tulong na ito, umaasa kaming mas maraming mamamayang lumalapit sa OVP ang mabibigyan ng karampatang tulong,” saad ni Tengco.
Apat na tranches o P30 milyon bawat quarter ang ibababang pondo ng PAGCOR sa tanggapan ni VP Duterte.
Ang financial grant ng PAGCOR ay makakatulong nang malaki sa mahihirap na pasyente upang mabayaran ang kanilang hospital bills, makabili ng mga gamut, sumailalim sa dialysis treatments at makinabang sa laboratory/diagnostic procedure, chemotherapy/brachytherapy/radiation therapy, implant/medical equipment/assistive device at physical/speech/occupational therapy.
Bago ang nasabing MOA signing, humiling ang OVP ng supplemental funding mula sa PAGCOR bunsod ng pagdagsa ng mga kahilingan para sa financial aid mula sa mga bagong tayong satellite office nito sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa.
Paliwanag pa ni Tengco na kabilang sa mga pangunahing Corporate Social Responsibility programs ng PAGCOR ang pagbibigay ng tulong sa mga makabuluhang gawain.
