Two bettors who won the jackpot prizes of two separate lotto games claimed their winnings at the PCSO Main office in Mandaluyong City on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
The first winner who claimed his prize is a retired security personnel member from Quezon City who won P5,940,000 in the Lotto 6/42 drawn on October 19, 2024. He often places a bet using the birthdates of his family members, and this time won the jackpot with the combination 04 – 19 – 29 – 11 – 10 – 03.
“Kareretiro ko lang po at hindi ko po alam ang gagawin. Buti na lang po at nanalo ako sa lotto, naisip ko po na magnegosyo dahil kaya pa naman po ng katawan ko,” he shared.
Meanwhile, the second winner is a 70-year-old junkshop worker from Tarlac who has been playing the lotto since 1995. He is a below-minimum wage earner who lives with his wife on a daily income of P200. The winning bettor said he randomly selected the numbers 07 – 38 -34 – 43 – 36 – 22, which won him P28,160,909 in the MegaLotto 6/45 drawn
on October 23, 2024.
“Matagal na po ako tumataya sa lotto. Hindi ko inakala sa edad kong ito saka lang ako mananalo. May maipapamana ako sa aking pamilya. Salamat at hindi ako bumitaw sa pag-asang hatid ng PCSO,” said the 70-year-old winner.
PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles said he hopes these inspiring stories remind the public of the transformative power of the PCSO’s lottery, which continues to change lives and provide hope to Filipinos nationwide.
“The PCSO remains steadfast in its mission to fund vital charitable programs, ensuring that each lotto ticket bought not only offers a chance at wealth but also supports essential social services and health initiatives nationwide,” said GM Robles.
To claim lotto prizes, winners must sign the back of the winning ticket and provide two valid government IDs for verification. Additionally, they must comply with the 20% tax on prizes exceeding ₱10,000.00 under the TRAIN Law. As per RA 1169, winners have one (1) year from the draw date to claim their prize at the PCSO Main Office at Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
