Mandaluyong City – In a proactive step toward enhancing responsible gaming practices, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) held a strategic meeting on January 28, 2025, at its Main Office in Mandaluyong City.
This meeting, centered on Responsible Gaming (RG) Principles and Practices, represents significant step in PCSO’s pursuits of the esteemed World Lottery Association (WLA) Responsible Gaming Level 3 Certification.
Chaired by PCSO’s Assistant General Manager for Gaming, Product Development, and Marketing Sector, Atty. Lyssa Grace S. Pagano, the meeting was attended by key figures from the gaming and broadcasting sectors, including Mr.
Ricky Banaag, President and CEO of DFNN, Inc.; Mr. Donald Limcaco, Chief Operations Officer of DFNN, Inc.; Mr. Jose C. Policarpio, Jr., President and CEO of Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation (IBC); Dr. Corazon C. Reboroso, General Manager of IBC; Mr. Tan Eng Hwa, President of Pinoy Lotto Technologies Corporation; Mr. Jeremy Go, Vice President for Marketing of Powerball Marketing Logistics Corporation; along with representatives from external suppliers and broadcast networks.
During the meeting, stakeholders were urged to incorporate Responsible Gaming principles into advertising and game development to better protect vulnerable groups. The discussions included educational campaigns featuring RG messages and partnerships with PCSO aimed at enhancing responsible advertising and participation in RG initiatives.
The social benefits of responsible gaming were emphasized, linking PCSO programs to healthcare, education, and charitable activities. The meeting is a crucial step in PCSO’s commitment to align with the WLA Responsible Gaming Framework, which prioritizes player protection and collaboration.
Following, the achievement of Level 2 Certification, PCSO aims for Level 3 by May 2025. As PCSO continues its journey towards enhanced responsible gaming, its dedication to the WLA principles and framework aims to
safeguard players, stakeholders, and the public while sustaining revenues for charitable programs.
