Congressman Arnie Teves from the 3rd District of Negros Oriental is deflecting the issue involving his son, Kurt Matthew Teves who was caught in a video ‘threatening’ village security guard. According to the netizens, who engaged the Congressman while doing his live streaming challenging Ben Tulfo, the issue is not, whether his son Kurt Matthew has a License To Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF).
The real issue is, the younger Teves was threatening the security guard, with a gun, considering the entire country is under a ‘gun ban.’ Here are some of the comments : “Arrogance at its finest! Even if he has a license to carry, it does not erase the fact that your son is a big A-hole. With this video, we know kung kanino sya nagmana.
”Why don’t you humble yourself na lang Cong? Even if he had a gun license, he has NO RIGHT to beat up anyone…magbago na kayo… DISCIPLINE starts at home Cong, remember that! How can you discipline your son if ganyan din ugali mo … Wag kayo mapang abuso” –
Meanwhile, Kurt Matthew Teves resigned from public office and asked his constituents and supporters for understanding. According to the younger Teves “he is ready to face the consequences of his actions.” Reading a prepared statement, aired live at One Heart Radio 103.9 FM, a local radio station, Kurt Matthew Teves, officially gave up his public position. In attendance were Bayawan City Mayor Pryde Henry Teves and 3rd District Representative Cong Arnie Teves.
The younger Teves resigned as an ABC President of Liga Ng Mga Barangay Captain after a controversial video that went viral in social media, showing him with his bodyguards punching, kicking and ‘threathening to shoot’ a helpless security guard in Las Pinas, recently.
Had it not been with #ipaBITAGmo, the case of Jomar Pajares who sought personally the help of Ben Tulfo, will just be a number added to the list of victims of abusive public officials and big names in the society
