Sixteen Thai Nationals were rescued by the elements of NCRPO together with CIDG Pampanga and Mabalacat City Pampanga Police Station in an operation conducted at R6 Fontana Clark Free zone, Pampanga at about 4:00 AM of October 15, 2022.
NCRPO Chief PBGen Jonnel C Estomo announced that the operation was conducted following a letter from Minister Counselor Kritreya Lepkao of Royal Embassy addressed to SPD District Director on October 13, 2022 regarding a report that Thai nationals were allegedly being forced to work beyond their work hours and without overtime pay from their employer Shedaikeji Technology (POGO Company).
On the investigation, it was found out that the passports of the victims were being held by their employer who later on agreed to return the same to the Thai Embassy on October 17, 2022.
As of press time, the victims said they will not file charges against their employer all they want is to go home immediately and be with their families.
