WARRANT SLAPPED AGAINST SUSPECT BEATING 66 Y/O SENIOR

Las Piñas Metropolitan Trial Court has issued a bench warrant against Gerson Dave Gonzales, the suspect beating a 66-year-old senior citizen in a middle of a traffic altercation in Las Piñas City that went viral on social media last July 24.

The warrant was released on September 1, 2022 by Presiding Judge Karen Sanchez Canullas-Armada of MTC Branch 123.

A bench warrant was slapped against Gonzales for non-appearing to the scheduled court hearing for the lawsuit of slight physical injury with a bail inclusion of P3,000.

The case stemmed from the complaint filed by Julian Adlao, a 66-year-old motorcycle rider, who got beaten by the suspect in a simple traffic altercation.

In the viral video, Adlao caught beaten by a baseball bat after a heated argument with Gonzales, who is said, a fitness instructor.

According to Joy, the daughter of Adlao, her father, who has a condition of hearing loss, became helpless when being beaten three times by the suspect using a baseball bat.

Joy narrated to BiTAG that “Binusinahan ni Papa yong nasa harapan niyang sasakyan –driven by Gerson Gonzales – at pinagbigyan naman siya.”

The senior citizen thought it was a usual misunderstanding, but the vehicle driven by Gonzales suddenly pinning him on the road.

“To avoid hitting the electric post, he stopped in front of the vehicle driven by Gonzales,” said Joy as she narrated the incident.

The elder tried to talked with Gonzales, but the latter went wild and lost control of his anger.

The Las Pinas City Police said “there was no settlement happened.”
Adlao is still limping when rushed to seek the help of BiTAG. He sought BiTAG’s help to reach justice and get appropriate medical attention.

Ben Tulfo and his younger brother, Erwin, now the secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), has extended assistance to Adlao and his family.

Secretary Erwin, through the ACT – CIS Partylist, has assisted Adlao for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, Ben Tulfo advised the suspect to surrender immediately to the proper authority.

“Here is my call to you Gerson Dave, listen. You’re not yet a wanted person, but in the eyes of BiTAG you are already a person of interest. There’s still time for Gerson Dave to face action squarely. You have been given every opportunity, ‘man up or else BiTAG will hunt you down,’ Ben Tulfo warned.

The suspect Gerson Dave Gonzales is still at-large as of posting time.
